A word at the start of the journey

There is an old bond between man and dog — so profound that it needs no explanation, only to be honoured as it deserves. This bond exists beyond us and before us. Around it have always gathered people who breed, who make responsible selections and who cherish the purebred dog. And wherever there are people of good faith, there is room for an organisation to stand beside them.

We founded the Royal Federal Canine Club because we felt the need for a real alternative in Romanian cynology. For decades, the system operated within a narrow framework, in which the documents and the work of some organisations were not recognised by others, and breeders were forced to choose between mutually incompatible structures. This artificial division harmed, first of all, the dogs and those who devote years of work to them.

We propose a different model. We believe that the development of cynology is not born from isolation, but from dialogue, mutual recognition and respect for everyone’s work. We have built an open organisation, in which collaboration matters more than competition between structures, and the experience of one generation is placed in the service of the next. In this spirit we joined the World Dog Federation, obtaining the status of full member and sole representative of the federation in Romania.

We are not in a hurry and we do not promise more than we can keep. Step by step, we are building a structure meant to remain useful for years to come: shows of international standard, a well-prepared and honest body of judges, registered kennels, clear regulations, educational programmes and care for the Romanian native breeds, which are a part of our identity.

Because, in the end, we do not build champions. We build part of what makes their existence possible — the right rules, the right people, the trust that holds a community together. Champions will come; our duty is to prepare a worthy path for them.

I invite all those who share this vision — breeders, judges, owners of purebred dogs and simply dog lovers — to join us. We need every experience, every idea and every person willing to put their shoulder to a Romanian cynology that is respected, at home and beyond our borders.

Welcome alongside us.
