Conditions of participation in CFC-Royal shows

Aligned with the regulations of the World Dog Federation (WDF). Accepted through a mandatory tick box in the entry form.

This is a translation for information. The Romanian text is the one adopted by the Board of Directors and the one that governs.

Chapter I. What these conditions are

Art. 1. Subject

(1) These Conditions establish the rights and obligations of the persons who enter or handle dogs at the canine shows organised by the Association Club Federal Chinologic – Royal or by its Collective Members.

(2) They do not replace the technical judging regulations of the World Dog Federation published by the Association, but accompany them: those state how judging is done, these state the conditions under which one takes part.

Art. 2. Who they apply to

(1) These Conditions apply to:

• a) the person who completes the entry;
• b) the owner of the entered dog, if a different person;
• c) the person who handles the dog in the ring, if a different person;
• d) the accompanying persons present at the show venue on the basis of the entry.

(2) The person who completes the entry is responsible for bringing these Conditions to the knowledge of the others listed in paragraph (1) and is jointly liable with them for observing them.

Art. 3. Acceptance

(1) Entry to a show is made only after the express acceptance of these Conditions, through a mandatory tick box in the entry form.

(2) The version of the Conditions accepted and the moment of acceptance are recorded together with the entry. A later amendment has no effect on entries already submitted.

Chapter II. The entry

Art. 4. Which dogs may be entered

(1) Any dog meeting the age and class conditions laid down by the WDF regulations for the chosen class may be entered.

(2) Age is counted at the date the show is held, not at the date of entry.

(3) A dog may be entered either with a pedigree certificate or — by ticking the corresponding option — for a typicality pedigree. In the latter case the dog is judged in the ring and may compete for BOB and Best in Show, but cannot receive certificates (CAJC, CAC, CACIB).

(4) The dogs of the organisers of that show may not be presented in the ring, in accordance with the WDF regulations.

Art. 5. The entry deadline

(1) Entries open and close at the dates and times announced for each show. The deadline is a moment, not a day: an entry submitted after the announced hour is not registered.

(2) After closing, no new entries may be made and the details of the dog, of the class or of the owner may no longer be changed.

Art. 6. Accuracy of the details

(1) The details declared at entry — the dog’s identity, the microchip, the pedigree number, the date of birth, the class — are declared on the responsibility of the person entering.

(2) Entry in an incorrect class entitles the organiser to move the dog into the correct class before the catalogue is closed or, if that is no longer possible, to exclude it from the award of certificates.

(3) Declaring untrue details regarding the dog’s identity entails disqualification and may entail the measures under Art. 15, as well as the consequences laid down in the Studbook regulations for documents obtained in this way.

Art. 7. The entry fee

(1) The fees are those in the Association’s fee list in force, published on the website, and are calculated according to membership, the number of dogs entered by the same person and the applicable reductions.

(2) Membership and student status are declarations of the person entering. The organiser may verify them; an untrue declaration entails payment of the difference in fee before entering the ring.

(3) An entry is considered valid on the date the fee was received in the account indicated in the form. Non-payment by the closing of entries leads to the cancellation of the entry.

Art. 8. Withdrawal and refund of the fee

(1) Withdrawal is announced in writing, to the organiser’s contact address.

(2) The fee is refunded as follows:

• a) withdrawal at least 15 days before the closing of entries — 100% is refunded;
• b) withdrawal within the last 15 days before the closing of entries — 70% is refunded;
• c) withdrawal after the closing of entries — no refund, the catalogue being closed and the costs committed.

(3) By way of exception, the fee is refunded in full, at any time, if the withdrawal is on account of the dog’s illness or death, proven by a veterinary document.

(4) Absence from the show without justification gives no right to a refund.

Art. 9. Cancellation or postponement of shows

(1) If the show is not held for reasons attributable to the organiser, the fees are refunded in full, within 30 days.

(2) If the show is postponed, the entrant may choose between keeping the entry for the new date and a full refund of the fee.

(3) If the show cannot be held for reasons beyond the organiser’s control (force majeure), the fees are refunded less the costs demonstrably committed, equally for all participants.

Chapter III. On the day of the show

Art. 10. The dog’s documents

(1) On entering the venue the following are presented: the dog’s pedigree document (or proof of entry for typicality), the health booklet with the compulsory vaccinations up to date and, on request, an identity document of the person.

(2) A dog without complete documents may not be brought into the ring.

(3) The sanitary and veterinary requirements are those laid down in the legislation in force.

Art. 11. Responsibility for the dog

(1) Throughout this time the dog is in the legal care of the owner or of the person accompanying it.

(2) The owner is liable for the damage caused by their dog to persons, to other dogs or to property within the venue.

(3) The organiser is responsible for the proper running of the event; it is not liable for damage caused between participants, nor for property left unattended.

(4) The dog is kept on a lead throughout the show venue, including in the ring, where a show lead is used. The lead is not removed from the dog for the duration of the show.

Art. 12. Conduct

(1) In the ring, the WDF regulations published by the Association apply, in particular «Behaviour and ethics in the ring» and «What handlers and exhibitors may and may not do».

(2) By entering, the persons listed in Art. 2 undertake in particular:

• a) not to comment on, influence or address the judge regarding the technical assessment, the judge’s decision being final;
• b) not to disrupt the conduct of the judging;
• c) not to present an aggressive or sick dog;
• d) not to use prohibited substances, interventions or presentation techniques;
• e) not to leave the show before the end of the rounds in which the dog is expected, without the agreement of the organising committee;
• f) to behave decently towards the judges, the officials, the other participants and the public.

(3) The dog’s welfare comes before any result. A dog showing signs of distress is taken out of the ring, at the request of the judge or of the committee.

Art. 13. Disqualification and non-assessment

(1) Disqualification (DSQ) and non-assessment (NJ) are acts of judging and are pronounced by the judge, in the cases and following the procedure laid down in the WDF regulations.

(2) They are not disciplinary sanctions and give no right to a refund of the fee.

Art. 14. Complaints

(1) Only the procedure may be challenged, not the judge’s technical assessment.

(2) The complaint is submitted in writing, to the show secretariat, during the event and at the latest one hour after the act complained of, accompanied by the complaint fee of 250 lei.

(3) The fee is refunded if the complaint is upheld.

(4) The complaint is settled by the organising committee, having heard the person who submitted it; where appropriate, the WDF delegate is called. The decision is communicated in writing and recorded in the Association’s register of complaints.

Chapter IV. Measures

Art. 15. Measures available to the organiser

(1) For breach of these Conditions, the organising committee may order, in order of gravity:

• a) a verbal warning;
• b) removal from the show venue, without refund of the fee;
• c) cancellation of the results obtained at that show;
• d) a proposal to the Board of Directors for the measure under Art. 16.

(2) The measures under points b) and c) are recorded in writing, stating the act, and communicated to the person concerned.

(3) These measures are not disciplinary sanctions. They follow from the failure to observe the conditions under which participation was agreed and apply to anyone, whether or not a member of the Association.

Art. 16. Refusal of future entries

(1) For serious acts — cruelty to an animal, identity fraud, violence, repeated disruption of the judging — the Board of Directors may decide to refuse entries to the shows organised under the aegis of the Association, for a fixed period of at most 2 years.

(2) The measure is taken only after the person has been notified in writing of the act complained of and has been given a period of at least 15 days to reply.

(3) The decision is reasoned in writing and communicated. It may be appealed to the Board of Directors, once only, within 10 days.

(4) If the person is a member of the Association, the act is also referred through the Disciplinary Procedure; the measures may be cumulated.

Chapter V. Data, image, final provisions

Art. 17. Personal data

(1) Data are processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy published on the website.

(2) By entering, the participant acknowledges that their name, the dog’s name, the breeder and the results are public competition data: they appear in the catalogue, on the show board, in the published list of results and in the records of the Association and of the World Dog Federation.

Art. 18. Image

(1) Photographs and recordings are made within the show venue for the catalogue, the communication and the archive of the event.

(2) Anyone who does not wish to appear in the published materials informs the secretariat, which takes the measures that are possible.

Art. 19. What applies in addition

The WDF technical regulations published by the Association, the fee list in force, the Privacy Policy and, for members, the Statute, the Internal Regulations, the Code of Ethics and the Disciplinary Procedure.

Art. 20. Entry into force

(1) These Conditions were approved by Decision of the Board of Directors no. 174/01-08-2026.

(2) They apply to entries submitted from 01.08.2026.

(3) They are published on cfc-royal.ro and linked from the entry form.

Additional provisions

1. Bitches in season and nursing bitches — are not admitted to CFC-Royal shows.
2. Minors handling dogs — may handle dogs from the age of 16, and in the Junior Handling class from the age of 10, if accompanied by a parent or a legal representative.
3. The maximum number of dogs the same person may handle in the same ring — one for each class/ring, provided this does not hinder the proper running of the show.
