What the „Winner” title-class means in WDF

What does the „Winner” title/class mean in WDF?

⚠ ATTENTION: In WDF, the term Winner is NOT a title in its own right (such as CAJC, CAC, CACIB, BOB, etc.).
Winner is an official competition CLASS, and a dog becomes „Winner” when it:

➡ is entered in the Winner class
➡ meets the conditions to enter this class
➡ wins that class with the grade Excellent 1

So „Winner” = the winner of the Winner class, not a separate title.

🔍 1. The conditions for a dog to be able to enter the Winner class

According to the regulation (Art. 13 – Winner Class):

✔ entry in the Winner class is MANDATORY for:

• adult dogs (at least 18 months)
• that have obtained 4 (four) CAC WDF certificates
• from at least 3 different judges

These CACs must already be validated in the qualification booklet before entering the show.

🔍 2. The administrative procedure – how does the dog enter this class?

To enter the Winner class, the owner must:

✔ tick the Winner class at registration

✔ attach the proof of the CACs (the qualification booklet)

✔ ensure the validation of the entry by the organizers

The organizers will verify:

• the number of CACs,
• the provenance of the judges,
• the official validation of the certificates.

If the requirements are not met → the dog is moved to another class (at the decision of the WDF delegate).

🔍 3. The procedure in the ring – how does the dog actually become „Winner”?

To become „Winner” (the winner of the Winner class), the dog must:

1️⃣ enter the ring in the Winner class

2️⃣ be judged individually

3️⃣ receive the grade Excellent 1

4️⃣ be declared winner of the Winner class for its sex

Only the dog with „Excellent 1” can be declared winner of the class.

🔍 4. The rights of the dog that wins the Winner class

The dog that wins the Winner class becomes automatically a candidate for CAC, and subsequently for BOB, as follows:

✔ it takes part in the Play-off for CAC (the „champions” category):

• Winner
• Champion
• Foreign Champions

✔ it may win CAC → and become a candidate for the National Champion title

✔ it may proceed further in the comparison for BOB

🔍 5. Who can NOT be „Winner”?

A dog can NOT become winner if it:

❌ does not have 4 validated CACs before entry

❌ was entered in the wrong class (the delegate moves it)

❌ receives less than the grade Excellent 1

❌ is eliminated / disqualified / not judgable

❌ misses the class call
